Growing up with the music of the British bands the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and the Small Faces, I discovered my passion for the Blues very early on; firstly the British Blues with the British Godfathers of Blues, John Mayall and Alexis Korner.
This music – which sprung from the roots of a large portion of the popular North-American music – fascinated me so much that I began to collect songs and before long I was well and truly hooked and now have a large collection.
At some point I started taking photographs and concert photography, especially photos of Blues artists, became my hobby . I now want to collect all my photos in one place hence my decision to dedicate this homepage to them.
Several trips to the U.S. with my wife Sonja – a journey following the roots of American music lead us from Nashville via Memphis and Clarksdale to New Orleans. This has encouraged our enthusiasm to grow, so much so that an annual visit to the Blues Music Awards in Memphis has become a fixture in our vacation . This is Blues at its best from early in the morning until late at night surrounded by people feeling the same way. I never felt better understood than with my Blues family there. And each time there are new things to discover, new young artists who keep the Blues alive. Further motivation – if any were needed! – for me to make this homepage – keeping the Blues alive!
