Southern Avenue in a breathtaking show at the 28. Grolsch Blues Festival in Schöppingen DE on 2019-06-09.

Southern Avenue are sisters Tierinii Jackson (voc) and Tikyra Jackson (dr, voc), Ori Naftaly (g), Evan Sarver (b) and  Jeremy Powell (key). Southern Avenue was one of my latest discoveries when I was in Memphis for the Blues Music Awards 2017 and I predicted a great future for them. And I wasn’t wrong. They are now touring the whole world and stopped by at this amazing festival.

Their debut album “Southern Avenue” as well as the second album “Keep On” relased in May 2019 are amazing. And so are their shows.

Southern Avenue is named after a Memphis street that runs from the easternmost part of the city limits all the way to Soulsville, the original home of Stax Records where many of the most famous blues artists recorded their hits, like Booker T., Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and and and.
